PERSONAL EFFECTS: Radio Documentary.

Work is presently underway on a radio documentary based on the research and preparation of the PERSONAL EFFECTS: a history of possession exhibitions. The programme is being developed with the Documentary on One team from RTE, the national broadcast station, and will be aired in late Spring of 2015.

Many interviews have been carried out to date with retired staff and ex-patients of  mental hospitals, psychiatrists, educators, archivists and historians. Samples of these interviews will eventually be made available on this website as an educational and cultural resource.

Visitors’ Books / Comments

Some sample pages from the Visitors’ Book at the 2014 exhibitions. In the past twenty five years of work I have never experienced such a response to an exhibition. PERSONAL EFFECTS: a history of possession allows the viewer to imagine the histories of anonymous people but it obviously also encourages reflection on ¬†personal memories of family history.
